First:  "Everything is mine for the taking."
Second: "The infected still have human rights."
Third: "They show a predilection to attack and devour people."

More:
"Damn, more blood; kind of slippery."
"Zombie World welcomes you."
"If she's still alive, there's only one place she'd be … The zombie bar."

"We are all alive, hah! Zombie car, attack!"
"Tickle, tickle, tickle."
"I'll erase your email addresses."

Well, how does this movie start out?  With a guy climbing a wall, with a box full of body parts to use as bait, to rustle up some zombies, so that he can collect these little doohickies atop the heads of the zombies.  And from there, it just gets weirder and weirder and weirder.  Banzai!

If one thing can be said about Japanese zombie movies, is that they like to go for the weird.  Oh, and the splatter; can't forget the splatter.  Gotta be buckets and buckets of blood to paint the landscape with the bright, bright red rain.

What else does this movie have?

  • Lots of zombies.
  • A chainsaw sword.
  • Cannibalistic brother and messed up mother.
  • A meteor from out space.
  • Psychotic serial killing brother and sister
  • Police with weird helmets.
  • Flying heads.
  • Improbable science!
  • A Michael Jackson Thriller bit …
  • Zombie fetus.
  • And nuclear missiles.
  • And, Kika, a heroine who''s heart was removed by her mother, the zombie queen.
  • Buckets and buckets of blood
  • Lots of laughs!
  • …and lots more!

And thus begins the Apocalypse as the island of Hokkaido becomes completely infested with zombie fun.

The only real downside I had with this movie was that the main actress, who at a number of points was supposed to be stricken with emotional distress, looked more like she was trying to pass gas, rather than fearful.  But, other than that, this movie was a pure yarn of fun and a big bag full of what the heck?  However, she does turn into a serious butt kicking super duper zombie slayer with abilities beyond the ordinary and a tendency to accept everything at face value.

I love this movie because it's just so over the top, unreal, unrepentant and completely off the fabric of normal mainstream video.  it consistently delivers very wild turns of events and keeps rampaging through a landscape of continuously exorbitant way out there scenes of impossibility.

The visuals and the improbabilities of each scene piling upon each preceding one keeps building one's taste for even more weirder exploits as it goes by.  The car made from human body parts is freaking genius, awesome weirdness and no limited amount of WTF!  Some of the characters exist in this worked frame but seem to have no backstory as the movie develops.  (PS: Watch the DVD extras.)  Disjointed, but neat in an artistic or stylistic sort of way.  Maybe confusing for those not used to this style of movie, but once you get past these little nuances, it's a wacky, wild ride.  This movie is not intended to be the least bit scientifically accurate or even a modicum of realistic.  It's just plain, fun.

PS: Did I mention the buckets of blood?  Oh, yeah, lots of that …
